Biological Remediation

In recent years, biological contamination in buildings and building components (i.e., Sick Building Syndrome) has become a growing problem. Potential Biological Contaminants can include:
  • Pollen and Other Allergens
  • Viruses
  • Bacteria
  • Fungus / Mold

Ohio Technical Services provides expert services to work in conjunction with the design and/or modification of buildings and HVAC systems to minimize biological contamination. In addition, OTS personnel are on-site to periodically monitor facilities for the presence of biological contamination, and Bio-Remediate contaminated facilities to reduce the overall bio-burden to acceptable levels. These activities can consist of one or more of the following:

  • Manual cleaning and surface decontamination to remove visible organisms;
  • Treatment with an environmentally friendly fungicide to prevent the return of contamination.

Mold Inspection and Abatement

Our full range of abatement services encompasses the abatement of mold. This can include a detailed inspection of the premises and swab samples sent to a laboratory for analysis. Our approach to eliminating mold and cleaning all infected areas minimizes cost and reduces the clients time spent away from the structure. Mold can cause allergies, infections, irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory system and other various health problems. If the mold is left untreated both long and short term exposure can result in illness. Mold reproduces by spores and can often spread to areas not highly visible. Water damage often causes mold to grow, therefore any type of water damage or musty odors need to be dealt with immediately. In order to control the mold the water problem must first be dealt with. We will first identify the problem areas and then proceed to remove and clean the contaminated materials so that the release of more mold spores to an uninfected area is prevented. OTS is able to accomplish both tasks in a timely and cost effective manner.
